Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s IBM India Private Limited in Feb. 2018 to offer Advanced Diploma in ‘IT, Networking and Cloud Computing’ by using high-end skill training facilities at NSTIs. Presently 446 trainees (271 Male & 175 Female) are undergoing training in 16 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) including 7 NSTIs exclusively for women (NSTI(W)) in the country that are offering the said course for the session 2019-21. This 2 year course on Diploma is being offered in following 16 NSTIs (9 General and 7 Women) viz. NSTIs(G) at,Bengaluru, Bhubneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad(V), Hyderabad(R), Howrah and Mumbai and NSTIs(W) at Allahabad, Indore, Kolkata, Noida, Panipat, Vadodara,Trivandrum and Calicut.

Further, the syllabi of 3 Diploma courses i.e. Diploma in Welding Technology, Diploma in Industrial Electronics and Automation, Diploma in Automotive Technology have been prepared/ under finalization for introduction in NSTIs.

30 X/XII Std pass with NTC (NCVT certificate in relevant trade) of any one year or Two-year Trade with minimum 60% marks/First Class. Candidates pursuing CTS, in NSTI / ITI who have appeared or appearing in their final exams can also apply, provided they should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in their CTS trade. In case of not satisfying the minimum 60% marks they will not be allowed to continue the course. or XII Std pass with minimum 60% marks/First Class. or X std pass with three-year diploma from recognized board and minimum 60% marks/First class in Diploma or Any regular degree from recognized university with minimum 60% marks/First class Yes

IT, Networking and Cloud course is very much essential in the current scenario due to a lot of demand in software industries where every industry is using cloud as base. After passing out the training programme, the trainee will be awarded Technical Diploma by NCVT which has worldwide recognition.

A candidate who has completed this course :

  • Can start their own enterprise on cloud maintenance, computer hardware maintenance
  • Can apply for jobs in Industry as system technician, cloud developer, web designer and trainers.
  • IBM will also work on vertical mobility for the students passing the Advanced Diploma course to B.Voc / B.Tech or similar courses offered by its partner universities.

Course Structure : The course is for two years duration. In the first year there are five core modules each module is credit based and employable. Each module is of 320 hours and is very much independent. In second year, the trainee will be taking two elective modules out of three electives each of 320 hours and will be doing on the job training in Industry for 800 hours. In addition, the trainees will pick up Employability skills for 160 hours.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COURSE

Commencement of the Session : November every year.

Age : Minimum 17 years of Age.

Scholarship & Stipend : A Scholarship of Rs. 3000/- per month will be provided by IBM prior to joining "On the Job Training (OJT)" in the last five months.

A Stipend of Rs. 15000/- per month will be provided by IBM for the duration of "On the Job Training (OJT)" during the last five months.

Placement : IBM and its channel partners will provide the placement support to students post completion of the course, Placement will be based on overall performance and merit during the course.

Vertical Mobility : IBM will also work on vertical mobility for the students passing the Advanced Diploma course to B.Voc or similar courses offered by its partner universities.

The allotment of seat in an institute will be finalized by respective Institute during counselling solely on the basis of merit (marks secured in the AICET- Diploma Admission) and as per the choices mentioned by the candidate in his application as well as considering the reservation norms.

If as per merit, the candidate's preferred seats (choices in application) are not vacant, he will be offered seat wherever available.

Hostel Facilities : Limited number of hostel seats are available at the Institute for  trainees which will be allotted to deserving trainees at the normal hostel rent after admission.

Working Hours : From 09.00 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break on all working days(Monday to Friday).

Attendance : Minimum 80% attendance is required to get Scholarship/Stipend per month and to appear in the Final Trade Test to be held at the end of the course.
